A Place To Be The Cowgirl You Want To Be

Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge Ranch Sorting
  • 60 second clock

  • Cattle numbered 0 - 9

  • Must sort with a Cowgirl who is entered up in the THCC

  • One Round - Most Cattle, fastest time wins

  • Contestants can choose to ranch hand or rotate during their run

  • Contestants may ride multiple times as a partner for other contestants

  • The amount of cattle you receive during your draw is the one that is written down

Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge Barrels
  • Standard cloverleaf pattern

  • Drag after every 5 runs

  • Knocked barrel will result in a no time

  • In the result of a tie for the overall top hand cowgirl, the fastest barrel run will be the tiebreaker.

Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge Ranch Trail
  • Ranch Trail is a judged class, not timed

  • Contestants will be judged on their ability to perform individual maneuvers

  • Contestants will get 3 tries for each obstacle, After 3rd refusal we will ask contestants to move on

  • No age rule on bits.  We ask that contestants practice good horsemanship - If you use a snaffle bit use two hands, if you use a shank bit use one hand

  • No training aids

Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge Ranch Cutting
  • Cutting sized arena, with a pen set up on the opposite side of the herd of cattle

  • Contestants will have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete event

  • A herd of number cattle will be in the arena
    judge will call for contestant to enter; time will start when the contestant walks through the timer line

  • Contestant will pick their cow and cut from the herd

  • Contestant will then hold their cow away from the herd, to the best of their ability

  • When the contestant feels they have adequately worked their cow, they will tell the herd help to "Fall Back".  The contestant will then proceed to pen their cow in an arena that is set up opposite to the herd

  • Penning your cow will signal time
    This is a judged event, not based on time

  • No age rule on bits.  We ask that contestants practice good horsemanship - If you use a snaffle bit use two hands, if you use a shank bit use one hand

  • No training aids

Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge Ranch Pleasure
  • Ranch Rail Class
    Contestants will be required to walk, trot and canter each direction.

  • Judge may call for an extended trot and hand gallop

  • Contestants will be judged on quality of movement, responsiveness and softness in the bridle

  • There will be several cuts of Ranch Pleasure depending on the total number of contestants

  • The judge will have the opportunity to pick contestants out of each cut to move onto a semi finals and then down to a top 10

  • No age rule on bits.  We ask that contestants practice good horsemanship - If you use a snaffle bit use two hands, if you use a shank bit use one hand

  • No training aids
